I fractured my pelvis last year and discovered I have severe osteoporosis. I now make sure I spend less time sitting. I stand for as many activities as I can. Walk to shop, not drive. I have always exercised but mostly bike riding which did not help my bones. I spend a long time cooking dinner now, head phones on listening to YouTube (including yours) and on my feet. I don’t sit again until ready to eat. I also do lunges or squats at random when I am standing. I am a natural at fidgeting and don’t have any weight concerns, so I believe the ideas in your video today are true and have worked for me. I am 64.

Margaret, you look lovely as is. I would like to lose about 15 pounds, but have never found it harder to do. I eat basically healthfully, but seem to want my little treats more now. When I was younger, I was better able to deny myself. I think at a point, we all are just dieted out. I am not sure how much more one would need to actually move to burn that many extra calories per day. The theory is nice, and basically a good idea, but I suspect the reality is not that easy.
This is very helpful. A gentle and easy approach to managing weight.

How about doing some actual exercise? Fifteen minutes, half an hour, even five minutes working on your arms, legs or abs really makes a difference.So far as the NEAT idea goes how about not sitting on a chair or other furniture. Just get down on the floor. You'll find you want to change position soon.I don't think the NEAT idea is all that good though as bodies adjust.Think about it. Would you liose 150 pounds over five years? Not if you only weighed that to begin with. Your body would adjust.Have a look at The Obesity Code by Dr Jason Fung.
I'm one of your junior followers. 😉 25-30 pounds to go… and my knees hurt (my grandma at my age was nearly crippled by rheumatoid arthritis…). So! While listening to you, I was tapping my feet/doing heel rises. 😊 Let's see where we get with that.Oh, and seriously- I know I'm fooling myself about how much I really eat. Food diary (and accountability) is important for me. Slowing down when I eat. And I want to go back to Daniel Wychor's approach- he suggests giving thanks for every bite. BTW, he has some videos on YouTube if you are interested; it's been a few years since he posted them. Before you put that in your mouth, say or think, "Thank you, LORD, for this nourishment." I did drop weight by being thankful and mindful that way, but forgot- and the weight came back on. Need to keep on the ball.

Can't wait! I'm at a plateau. I'm 54 and will be 55 in 3 mos. All I have to shed is 35 lbs!
